Lt. Bush, because I love him
Dec. 14th, 2005 11:09 pmI just want to squee about Lt. Bush. I am so in love with him! How did this happen?! I signed on to be a Horatio fan! Well. I am a Horatio fan, and I do love him to bits, and I enjoy squeeing over him very much (Ioan's visuals + book!Horatio = teh sex) but there's just something about Bush that makes me go (extra) weak at the knees. He is steady and faithful and so sensitive - especially when it comes to anything remotely connected to Hornblower. He's the strong, silent type *melt* and he never complains and he never gives up. His men love him and fear him and yet he's gentle and softly spoken around Hornblower. He provides the slashiest scenes ever ♥ and there is just so much LOVE between him and Hornblower! Not just lustful romantic love, but selfless, platonic love.
Archie is nice, but he just doesn't compare. I'm a huge book fan, so the movies will always come second. It would have been great to see Archie live to make a threesome with Hornblower and Bush, especially because Archie's enthusiasm and ebullience translate so well on the screen. But given the choice between book and movie, and between Bush and Archie, it will always, always be books + Bush :)
The other strange thing is that I think Paul McGann's Bush is unbelievably sexy, and I'd do him in a second :) His eyes and his mouth and his hands on the glass - and that's to say nothing of his voice! But I don't find Paul McGann himself to be especially attractive - to me, he's only gorgeous when he's Lt. Bush - but boy is he super gorgeous then! Whereas Ioan is always gorgeous, although again, I find him to be most gorgeous as Hornblower.
