Mothers Are Love

It's not Mother's Day today and it's not my mum's birthday, which is the whole point.

lily22 and I were just chatting on AIM as usual one day when we got onto the topic of mothers, and how wonderful they are. Nurturers, confidants, teachers, shoulders to cry on, comfort givers, solver of all the world's problems, chefs, taxis, banks, providers of unconditional love. We figured if anyone deserves a colour bar, it's all the mothers of the world.

My mum is the the best mum in the world. We talk for hours on end about everything and nothing. We share clothes and shoes and bags. I've broken up with a boyfriend on her advice. She's gone without new clothes to buy me something I wanted. She'd stay up all night with me if I was sick or having bad dreams. She taught me to be good, kind and loving. She said that an education was the most important thing to get out of my childhood, and she was right. She shows me daily that family is the most important thing in the world. I give her a hug and a kiss and tell her I love her every single day, because it's true and because I know I'd regret it if I didn't.

Here's to all the mothers in the world! Thank you for being so wonderful.

Woohoo! 24 hours later and a moodtheme is born. Hornblower, naturally :)

It's actually quite heavy on Hornblower, followed mainly by Bush, Archie, Pellew and the Duchess with a handful of other Indy boys thrown in for good measure.

Download: 1.05mb (will need Winzip or equivilent to open) I'm using Yousendit because I don't have anywhere to upload files, so if the link expires you can leave a comment with your email address and I'll send the zipped file to you. http://s9.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1C1SOQ3EZL7JT1BKW9S4VHT2VX (copy and paste it into your address bar. YSI are cracking down on direct linking, apparently.) Etc: This completely shareable and completely customizable, should you want to switch the pics around or replace some with others. Comments are wonderful, credit is appreciated BUT not necessary. I just ask that you comment if you don't credit :)

Setting it up: You will need a paid account and an image hosting place (eg photobucket, which is free). LJ has some newfangled moodtheme console thingy which means you put in the URL for each mood as you go. I prefer the old-fashioned way, which uses the commands list and the admin console. LJ has a good FAQ here but if you need a hand (or the commands list) just leave a comment.

Yay for Hornblowerness! :) Now all I need to do is figure out CSS for a layout and acquire some artistic talent so I can make some icons.

ETA: Has anyone used the S2 customization stuff to make a layout of their own? It looks so complicated!!
