Cakes 1 and 2

Chocolate cake for a friend's birthday (Thursday):



And a chocolate/raspberry/sour cream/white chocolate Christmas tree cake for the karate kids tonight:



I baked personalised cookies for everyone and made the 'decorations' at the same time. The actual cake was baked this morning before karate while I was wearing a gi, and all day I could smell the chocolate batter. If I'd had more time and experience, it would have been a prettier cake, but I think I'm going to try again next week so we shall see if there's been any improvement then.
